Dunse. Very fine example of the Dunse postmaster's unique habit of using his receiver as an arrival-cum-second-cancellation. Berwick to Dunse 27 Dec 184285.00

Thurso. Fine 4-margin pl 81 [PE] on a fine entire from Thurso to Edinburgh, 2 Jun 1848. The Thurso cancellation is so faint that the Edinburgh postmaster has had another go! Most unusual and scarce. - as well as an interesting order for beer:  "Dear Sir, Have the goodness to send by the smack John O'Groats one half dzn of five guinea ale quite fresh and of good quality....."!58.00

Beith. Attractive small cover sent from Largs to Beith on 25th Sept 1846 which, by virtue of slightly indistinct handwriting, first found its way to Bath!  Very fine 'Missent to Bath' strike, followed by the northward journey to Beith, where it arrived on 29th March. (What price Royal Mail beating that?!)65.00

Edinburgh.  Fine part cover from Edinburgh to Kirkcudbright, bearing a very fine stike of the exceptionally scarce 'PAID 6d EXTRA'. Auckland ED 184, scarcity G.145.00
