CC14Indian Mutiny.  Superb tri-colour cover from Upper Deal (udc), 22nd Dec 1858, addressed to Captain Hales Wilkie in Lucknow. ( Hales Wilkie was Educated at Oxford. He purchased a commission in the 97th Foot (The Earl of Ulster's Regiment) as Ensign in 1854.  Served with the regiment in Crimea in1855, including the siege and fall of Sebastopol.He served in the Indian campaign of 1857-58, and was present  at the siege and capture of Lucknow. Retired as a Major-General.)235.00
